I continue to hear complaints from IT managers regarding the forced license changes being imposed by Microsoft. Many folks seem to be putting their companies into a sort of license holding pattern for the near term. Others are looking into alternative OS and Office Productivity applications.
Will the current licensing anger become the event which breaks the market open for alternative competitors to Microsoft?

I hope so ... we estimate that our costs will go up significantly under the new MS plan. In effect we will be paying 25 - 30% in maintenance costs per year, with diminished terms. Our company is exploring various options and limiting our actions.
