Technology workers are joining unemployment lines in droves. What is your story - how was it done? How did your company burn through its cash reserves? What was your craziest perk?

Chris, I'm replying to this message after you posted it almost a year ago. I still have technology associates in many companies who have recently lost their jobs (or who are still out of work). One thing that seems to be true now it that all those "crazy perks" like trips, free lunches, sky high salaries, etc. have dried up and gone away.
